Zine

£15.00

Karaoke Party serves as an extension of the Neon Echoes project and is also an independent art zine created in 2025.

Developed during an artist residency in Fukuoka, Japan, the series uses karaoke as an entry point to explore the idea of shared cultural space. Through visual language, it reflects on Asian culture and the melodies and memories deeply rooted in our collective consciousness.

The artist takes the karaoke bar screen as a visual window, condensing time and music within each image. The entire work is woven around the lyrics “Where, oh where have I seen you before” from Teresa Teng’s song Tian Mi Mi. Her voice acts as a cultural emulsifier, gently blending the boundaries between nations and emotions.

The project was presented in August 2025 in Fukuoka, Japan, engaging in cultural exchange with local residents, and was simultaneously exhibited in Shanghai.
